Cute Cookie Favors...

Hi, guys! I hope you all had an awesome Labor Day! I am finally back from my wonderful and much needed vacation (hence the lack of posts last week). I have found that no matter where I go, there's truly no place like home. Ahhh....moving on!

I am becoming more and more enamored with cookies these days, especially as shower favors. Cookies are not only delicious, but they're a unique way to show your appreciation to guests who have taken time out of their busy schedules to come and celebrate with you! Plus you can get them to match your theme and use them as a centerpiece! Check out these cutie pies. Well, they're not actually pies, but you get the drift...

ZEBRA THEMED BABY SHOWER....

(click pictures to enlarge)

Who says all baby showers have to be tame and conservative? I sure don't!! Add some excitement, flair and spice with a zebra-themed baby shower!

Make sure to have splashes of color throughout as the black and white print can become a bit redundant. Bright colors work best- think chartreuse, fuchsia or even orange.

Paper lamps in coordinating solids are ideal for decor. Also consider candles as they are inexpensive yet elegant.

Zebra-printed cookies could serve as favors, or grab some cute little favor boxes and fill them with candies. I guarantee your guests will go wild!!

OLD McDONALD HAD A FARM...

'Old McDonald Had a Farm' has got to be one of the oldest songs in the history of the universe, wouldn't you agree? While it certainly seems like ages ago since I visited a petting zoo, seeing farm animal baby things never ceases to bring a smile to my face. Here are some great dessert ideas for a barnyard inspired baby shower. Yes, people have those too..

'Mama & Baby Bird'- baby shower brunch

(click pictures to enlarge)

I received an email asking for suggestions for a birdie -themed baby shower. I instantly thought of Robin's egg blue which inspired this lovely color scheme.

A baby shower brunch is an intimate way to honor mommy-to-be, don't you think? Me TOO! For invites look for invitations with chicks on them or a hatching egg in order to establish the theme.

The table setting is simple yet compliments the theme with a splash of color. Consider a single origami flower on the tableware for a unique touch. Decorative votives and serving ware are also inexpensive ways to keep with the theme. You could also find some great deals on leftover Easter eggs which could be used as decoration and centerpieces as well.

For the menu, go with light entrees such as spinach and cheese quiches, homemade waffles with fresh fruit, and these creative pink-deviled eggs (link to recipe below) which are sure to be conversation pieces! Mimosas and champagne are also customary at brunches.

For favors, step outside of the box with colorful felt birdies or these adorable egg's nest soaps. Your guests will be singing your praises like little birds!!
